White Muzzles Rule

A 3/3/13 watercolor from my sketchbook of a senior Dachshund. White muzzles on dogs get me every time, and with weiner dogs the way the white fur spreads up onto the forehead and makes their soulful eyes look even bigger and more appealing makes them especially satisfying to paint. I have been associated with Dachshund rescues for many years, donating designs and prints for them to use for fundraising. Rescues end up with a lot of senior dogs to re-home. Can you imagine how confused these old dogs must be? If you've ever considered fostering or rescuing an animal, dog or cat, bird or rat, consider an older pet. They have so much to give, and deserve so much to have comfort and love and to return the same.
