Sketchboook Selection of the Day XII
This one makes me laugh - because the woman and the horse weren't planned to make a single illustration, but when I scanned them they had a sort of angry Lady Godiva vibe. Often before posting I remove bits of other drawings that butt-up against the illo I am planning to use, but this time I left 'em as is.

Illustration Friday: Strong
IF: StrongMable often awoke with very pronounced morning breath, but this morning when she accidentally rinsed her mouth with XTra Strength® Toilet Bowl Cleaner rather than her usual Fresh Smile® Breath Freshener she had a rather stronger reaction than normal.
Above, just for kicks, is the pen sketch before I applied watercolors. Thanks for any comments!!

Sketchboook Selection of the Day XI
"Trying to define yourself is like trying to bite your own teeth" - Alan Watts. That is one of my favorite quotes and seems appropriate today because I have spent the day pondering how to re-do my websites and leverage more name recognition for Pond. This led to today's sketch, which I call "Pond Scum."
I had thought to draw this villainous looking frog leaning against a plant and trying to corrupt some tadpoles with contraband flies, but in the interest of a quick sketch I came up with this.
I had thought to draw this villainous looking frog leaning against a plant and trying to corrupt some tadpoles with contraband flies, but in the interest of a quick sketch I came up with this.In re-creating my websites TerryPond.com and Wiener-dog.com I have a few different goals: one) is to drive more traffic to the illustrations I have for sale on products and two) is to create more work and thus, more income. With the crash and burn of my Cafe Press sales I am moving forward with my plans to actively seek more clients and perhaps to even secure a full-time job.
Kelly started first grade yesterday, so for the first time in over six years I have actual, uninterrupted time in which to work - on my own or an employer's ideas and initiatives.
